Steve, I just read BDA I and II and must say you have convinced me. Your critical thinking skills along with your maturity and depth of thought far exceeds anyone else’s “work” in piecing together the “whodunit..” Actually, you have knocked everyone else by the wayside.
In reading others’ “work” and websites, it’s difficult to get past the amateurish thinking (I have a degree in Criminal Justice + 25 years as a human resources director), not to mention their immaturity in response to your work, which I contribute to nothing more than them tripping over their ego. Not everyone gets to be right and immaturity simply highlights their amateurism.
Like so many others, I do hope DNA will be tested and your neighbor allows investigation into the remains in her backyard to eliminate the lingering doubts of others – it will be the bow on a nicely wrapped package.
I look forward to reading your future discoveries – there’s still plenty to be made, no doubt.

Lora: Hi Lora. Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated. Never dreamt that BDA I and the LA Lone Woman Murders would be just the tip of the iceberg. It was the discovery in the Secret DA Black Dahlia Tapes that the victim, Elizabeth Short went to Chicago and began investigating the 1945-6 “Lipstick Murders” that pulled me into the next Rabbit Hole which would be Most Evil I and the Chicago, Manila, and Bay Area murders. Best reading order for the additional books is: Most Evil, BDA II, Most Evil II, and finally the just-published BDA III. With your degree in Criminal Justice I think you will find the expanded crime signature of “Murder as a Fine Art” fascinating. I know I did. Best, Steve

Steve: I am indebted to George. He changed my life for the better. I left my position as an elementary
school teacher in Tokyo after completion of my contract in 1962. George employed me as Manager of hisTokyo office. George selected me . My competitors for the same position were an MBA graduate from Harvard and an American who had graduated from Yale with a major in Japanese. I very much needed a job at the time. George showed me— the world of international business. J.Malian

Jim M: Hi Jim. I’m sure there are many that are indebted to my father in the world of business. You don’t get to be “the leading Market Research expert in all of Asia” without making friends and helping a lot of people. As you well know, his company, INRA-Asia (International Research Associates-Asia operated in eighteen countries and was the top Market Research company in the Far East for decades. No question about it, in his “day job” he was a highly respected international businessman at the top of his game. Unfortunately, he was also an international serial killer, at the top of his “game” who in the final count will have taken the lives of nearly fifty innocent victims.

      Hi Jim:
I am glad he had a positive effect/influence in your life. No question the “Good Dr. Jekyll” side of my father was a very positive influence on many lives. I think of the scores of lives he saved in China as a medical mediator for UNRRA. Those who he diagnosed in medical need, lived, those who did not, likely died. No question he became one of the leading experts in business/Market Research in his many years in Asia.

is it true that tamar became pregnant by her father george hotel

    • Steve Hodel on February 16, 2019 at 10:52 am

Carole H: Well, it’s true she became pregnant at 14 in July, 1949. Paternity of the father uncertain. An article in the NY Times from 1949 covering the trial suggests that Tamar went to her father claiming she was pregnant by a roomer at the Sowden/Franklin House “who she thought she was in love with.” That was likely, Joe Barrett, age 25, who was living with us and did admit to me (in 2000) he had been involved with Tamar back then. Tamar later in interviews with me claimed she “was pregnant by her father.” So, hard to know who was the father. I lean toward believing the newfound article but either way she had an abortion terminating the birth.

Steve, I read The Black Dahlia Avenger & it convinced me. I went on to research some fascinating information regarding the Wright homes in regard to Feng Shui chi energy, It is quite peculiar that there were murders in other Wright homes as well.
I noticed in the photo of your fathers that appears to be Betty passed out that there is a horse above her head and wondered if it could possible be a symbol as well.. Horse as heroin appears to be attested by 1950 so maybe it is possible, that and the rotting teeth and all it made me curious if she was possibly a user.

      • Steve Hodel on July 21, 2021 at 5:57 pm

        Kelli:
No, I don’t believe there was any connection. That horse drawing was one from his collection brought back from China in 1946. Elizabeth Short was not a narcotic user and rarely drank any alcohol. The myths that she was a narcotic user and prostitute are lies and hack writers’ twisted imaginings.
