My brother, Michael Paul Hodel, passed away in 1986 after a diagnosis of cancer. From diagnosis to death in about 30 days. He was 47 years old.
He is greatly missed. He was an author (Enter the Lion) and and for more than a decade, hosted his popular sci-fi radio show “Hour 25” on KPFK in Los Angeles.
I wanted to honor my brother’s memory as we are just four days away from his birthday. He was two years older than me, born on July 12, 1939.
Below I have reproduced in full a story he wrote for Fantasy Book Magazine, published some 44 years ago, in November, 1982, four years before his death.
