The Sun Newspaper Interview with Author Steve Hodel on his True Crime Books “Most Evil I and II” Presenting Evidence That His Father George Hill Hodel was “Zodiac”

“The Sun” newspaper (USA/UK) asked to interview me about my two books, Most Evil I and II, and my investigation into the “Zodiac crimes.” The Sun’s interview was motivated by the just-released Netflix series presenting the case that maybe Arthur Leigh Allen was Zodiac.
Thanks for your great detective work. The problem with acceptance of all this: larger-than-life figures like your father overwhelm most average people intellectual as well as emotionally. Intellectually they don’t understand the ” connetivity thinking ” of such guys, planning their lifes around themes and hidden goals for decades. One hidden goal of your father I assume is being ” nerved ” by dumbness of mankind and getting rid of his frustration by murdering normal people and giving other normal people riddles. The emotions of such people are part of their thinking. Normal people emotionally are driven by accidential events from outside, whilst these people plan the points of their ” big emotions ” in advance, being able to wait for years. The third thing: they can ” tailor ” their communication perfectly, not arousing suspicion with normal people. Their true communication they ” reserve” for their victims. Some of these people are prominent leaders like Hitler, Dschigis Khan, Mao, the Kim-Family. Others like your father acted in private. I think I have a view for this because I grew up with a mother being of this style. She always reminds me of the Harry Powell figure played by Robert Mitchum in the film ” The night of the hunter “: she barely needed sleep and had unbelievable communication skills like Robert Mitchum in the scene with love and hate or getting a governor she didn’t know on the phone in very short time. Most people will say this is all fantasy, but I know such people are real.

Excellent observations Thomas. Yes, GHH had a burning need to strike out at mankind in general and as a supreme misogynist focused that hatred on woman.
Robert Mitchum’s role in “The Night of the Hunter” is an excellent example of the type of psychotic behavior George H possessed. (Or, possessed him.) Been a long time since I have seen that classic, need to rewatched it soon. Thanks, Steve
