      Patricia O:
Thanks, Pat, you are always one of my biggest if not “the” biggest cheerleader. Very kind and much appreciated. Slowing down a bit now, with the big 80 just three months away, so hoping that maybe with the government’s new infrastructure bill they can carve out some funding to turn that “Stairway to Heaven” into an elevator? And yes, let’s get the docuseries and “The Early Years” out to the public before I exit stage left. Best, Steve

Hi Steve, it’s been awhile since we’ve talked. What would have been Kristin’s 53rd birthday is coming up on August 8th and needless to say I miss her more than ever. I came across this story recently and wondered if you’d seen it. https://riversideca.gov/rpd/about-contact/operations/investigations-division/cold-case-unit

Of course I believe GHH wrote the letter to Bates’ father. What are your thoughts?
I hope all is well with you,
    Your friend,
    Lucas

      Hi Lucas:

I know about the missing. It’s hard. Lost my brother Mike at age 47 to cancer. Still miss him terribly and it’s been 25years. So sorry for your loss.
No, I hadn’t seen the article.
Riverside PD has never wanted their crime connected to Zodiac, but I definitely believe IT IS.
Not sure what DNA they have or if they have even compared it to the SF Bay Area samples?
All good here. Just finishing “The Early Years” and things moving slowly forward on the docuseries, which I hope is completed next year?
      Stay well my friend.
      Steve

This means in ‘Most Evil’ p. 209, figure 15.18, where you connect Zodiac [ whom you claim is your father] to the Bates ” Had to die” letter/Z signature is incorrect. George had nothing to do with the letter and clearly not Zodiac. The author of ” Had to die” was identified (written by him as a hoax) and it’s not George Hill Hodel.

          Jv:

I repeat, no confirmed Zodiac DNA has been obtained by any LE agency, including Riverside. I stand by my original claims that Cheri Jo Bates is in fact a Zodiac-related crime and will be presenting further linkage supporting that fact in my yet to publish “The Early Years” crimes. Riverside PD has never wanted their crime to be connected to Zodiac and this so-called “new evidence” with its claim that one of the handwritten letters was written by a young teen is quite vague and completely ignores the additional linkage, ie. typewritten letter and the fact that Zodiac himself took credit in confirmed Zodiac letters to the press for his “Riverside activities.”
