Several weeks ago I did a three-hour radio interview with  hosts, Dave Schrader and Tim Dennis of Darkness Radio. Both men are professionals and the in-depth interview takes an extended look at my Dahlia investigation, which is then followed up in subsequent hours with a focus on some of the circumstantial evidence in the Chicago, Manila, Riverside and Bay Area Zodiac crimes.
Due to the length of time allotted, (each runs about 45 minutes) these three back-to-back segments explore some areas which have gone unasked in most of my previous interviews.
Dave and Tim’s objective-probing allowed me to answer some important questions and provide additional information which helped explain some of the “WHYS” of what I call Dahliagate as well as providing new insights into some of the behind the scene- “police politics.”
Here are the links to the interview which aired on Darkness Radio’s,  “True Crime Tuesdays” show, October 1, 2013.

Maybe I overlooked it, but do we know what prompted Elizabeth Short to investigate the Chicago murders?

JA: We don’t KNOW why she went to Chicago and began investigating the Lipstick Murders, just that she did. Clearly documented in the DA Files. My speculation is she somehow found out that George Hodel was or might be connected to one or more of the crimes and began looking at the cases while he was away in China. Maybe heard something from a mutual friend or???
