Given the length and depth of your investigation the Velasquez’ article in the South Pasadenan is an excellent compilation of pertinent facts. Facts such as former Deputy DA Steven Kay’s quote: “I have no doubt in my mind that George Hodel murdered both Elizabeth Short and Jeanne French,” said Kay, after carefully reviewing Steve Hodel’s investigation. “And were he alive today and were the witnesses alive, I would have no problem in filing two counts of murder against Dr. George Hodel, and I believe if I took that case in front of a jury that I would convict him.”
Looking forward to reading the new book: “Black Dahlia Avenger III”.

If the DA claims the evidence you presented is sufficient to close the case and convict GH, then why is it still unsolved and open according to the LAPD?
Smauel Lai: That was then active Head DDA Steve Kay’s legal opinion, but he wasn’t speaking for the DA’s office.
LAPD is responsible for clearing crimes and the DA’s Office cannot clear them on their own. LAPD’s official position is
that “they don’t have time to look at my investigation as they are focused on current and more recent crimes.” This despite
the fact they claim “The Black Dahlia case is still open and unsolved.” I explain in great detail the why of LAPDs ongoing
refusal to “clear it” despite their own Chief of Detectives James McMurray’s order to his detectives to “Go ahead an clear the
Black Dahlia case unless you find some major holes in Hodel’s investigation.” LAPD detectives took no action knowing the Chief of Detectives would be retiring in nine-months. For the past thirteen years they have taken the position “We are too busy with more recent crimes to look at Hodel’s investigation.” Egos, Territoriality and Politics.
And certainly the continuance of “unsolved crimes of LA” only add to the allure of the city and hence “tourist dollars” (so, politics). Reminds me of the same situation in the LGBTQ community (and Democrat Party circles) who absolutely now and forever refuse to entertain investigatory conclusions regarding the murder of Matthew Shepard. I think you should look more into Jean Spangler as the image you found in your father, Goerge Hodel’s pictures. If you look closely, the structure of the picture you found looks more like Jean Spangler than Elizabeth Short. I compared both images myself of the women to the one you found believing to be Elizabeth Short. And it carries a very close resemblance to Jean Spangler. The woman who unexplainably disappeared in the same area of Los Angeles in 1949.

I’m doing a report on the Black dahlia case could you explain how you found that you father is the rime suspect of the Case?
Elizabeth:
I’ve written six books on the subject totaling 2700 pages, so too much to try and communicate here to you. Best to read the first book, Black Dahlia Avenger, which covers how I came to, or rather it, the investigation came to me. The short answer is at my father’s death certain articles and information came into my possession that indicated my father knew and was dating “Elizabeth “Black Dahlia ” Short in the years prior to her murder. Also, information indicated LAPD had him as their “prime suspect” back in 1949-50. I began my investigation to clear him of any suspicion and in following the evidence discovered he was in fact, her killer. Regards, Steve Hodel
Super late to the party but that letter by W. Glenn Martin is MIND BLOWING. I read the first BDA and was a believer you have solved the murder of Elizabeth Short. Of course over the years I’ve seen so many other opinions that I started to waver a bit but the letter has to be the final nail in the coffin. George Hodel did that shit.
